SEO378: Stunning Antique Dress  This stunning antique white cotton doll dress is perfect for a German or French doll. It is very elaborate and all original. Condition is lovely. Bodice is accented with open work, embroidered medallions and hand embroidered flowers meandering about. The sleeves have a similar decoration and some very dainty tiny tucks. The sleeves have a scalloped edge, as does the hem of the dress. Full gathers cascade from an empire waist and feature tucks and several panels of lace. The embroidered medallions with meandering embroidery is repeated at the scalloped hemline. Sleeve length is 5~1/4" long. The dress length is 15". Empire waist measures approximately 11" around. Tiny mother of pearl buttons in back. I've examined the dress several times and can find no damage . If there is a string broken, it is hidden in the busy pattern of the different lace pieces and I have not seen it. This would also be a lovely dress for an early china or wax doll.
