SEO390: Early Tea Set

This lovely child's antique porcelain tea set is a complete set, with 23 pieces. The set includes 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 plates, a teapot with lid, sugar bowl with lid and a creamer. The images on the set are beautiful and brightly colored and feature children with different animals or birds. The teapot, which measures 4~1/2" tall (measuring without the lid), features a boy by a pond with swans. All the pieces in the set include some elaborate design in the white porcelain and include some detailing with gold gilding. The teapot does have an old hairline on the bottom or underside. Please view my photos. Each cup measures 2~1/2" tall and the lip and handle have a scalloped design, accented with gilding. Some wear to gilding at high points or areas that would have been handled a great deal. There are several cups featuring a young girl feeding birds, and several featuring a young boy in a field with his dog. One cup has a teeny chip along the lip which I can feel if I run by finger around the lip of the cup. One cup a bit of sticky label or tape residue, which should come off with alcohol. Minor factory flaw to the inside of a cup, where parts of bisque droplets were fired into the bottom of the inside. See photo. No damage to cup. The sugar bowl is approximately 2~1/2" tall, without lid. Condition is lovely and it features flowers on the back and the image of the girl feeding the birds on the front. The creamer also measures approximately 2~1/2" and is in good condition. Please remember, this is an antique porcelain toy, so there will be some wear to some of the images, some minor loss to color in transfers, wear to gilding, etc. The plates have a lovely scalloped edge with gilding. The center of the plates feature the images described above, The plates measure 5" in diameter. All appear to be in lovely condition. The saucers measure 4,5" in diameter Some have a little roughness as you rub your fingers around the rims, but they have all been glazed over with the original glossy finish. Teapot lid and sugar bowl lid in good condition, as well. A lovely set which is complete, which is rare. This would be charming displayed with dolls and bears, as if having a tea party! Unmarked but identified as German. (See DORIS LECHLER'S BOOK FRENCH AND GERMAN DOLLS, DISHES AND ACCESSORIES ) Please email me for additional photos.
