SOR40: Doll's Silk Dress   This lovely powder blue antique silk dress is perfect for an antique French or German doll! Classic styling, with the pointed collar, accented with a panel of lace and hand stitched feather stitching. The dress features puffed sleeves with lace edging and a fully gathered skirt. It also has a bit wider cut to the neckline, which highlight a doll's bisque shoulderplate and would be appropriate for a Bru or Jumeau.
The dress length is approximately 14" long. Sleeve length is 6~1/2". It looks like it will accommodate a French doll's body style. Waist circumference is approximately 13". Original blue ribbon is laced into the sleeve cuffs, so it can be a little flexible... Can be cinched a bit tighter or expanded to accommodate a doll's arm. I have not tried to do this, however. A sewing loop for hook and eye has come unstitched in the back. Pin closure in back. Overall antique condition is lovely . Please view all my photos. This would display beautifully with an antique doll's clothing and accessories. Machine and hand stitching. I would suggest putting a doll's slip under the dress, if you are going to display it on a doll. The fabric is very fine and delicate.
