SOR51: Nesting Blocks Germany   This is a fabulous set of lithographed paper covered wooden nesting blocks! Ideal for displaying with antique dolls or bears. Perfect for display in a doll collection or in a child's bedroom or toy room. The images feature children playing various games, children with various toys, different seasons, such as summer and winter, springtime Easter activities, children with animals such as cats, snow angels, gnomes, Christmas scenes with toys and a feather tree, children having a tea party, ice skating, painting, images of faces of young children, butterflies, a jester, children with a dog, birds, etc. The top of each block features numbers or alphabet letters. The blocks fit inside each other to form a compact unit. There are 9 blocks, varying in size, of course. The smallest is a little over 3~1/2" tall X 2" square. The largest is 5~1/4"square. Featured are the times tables, numbers, alphabet letters through z. One block features "Nest of Picture and ABC Cubes Made in Germany".
Condition is good. Wear to paper mostly on edges and corners, as to be expected. Some images show wear to paper surface, as well. Colors appear vibrant. One picture appears to be a vintage replacement, well done, as it has a slightly glossy appearance, the other pictures are more matte in appearance. Some glue or tape reinforcement on the interiors or undersides of some of the blocks (involves only 2-3 blocks of the 9). Stacked, these measure an amazing 39" tall! Impressive to display under a feather tree at Christmas or to display with antique dolls and bears.
