VC8028SOS: Trunk with Compartments  This is a wonderful antique doll trunk. Paper covered wooden trunk, accented with panels of wooden slats and a black metal trim. Some wear and nicks to the exterior (please view my photos and I do have more, if needed), original metal adornments,missing one leather handle on the side. The other side has the handle, but one side is tucked into the metal embellishment and when pulled, it will come out, so one cannot lift the trunk with the handles.
When closed, the dome top trunk measures 16" X 9~1/4" X 11" at the tallest part. I suggest, if you display this open, the lid needs to braced from the back so there is not excessive pressure put on the hinges. In other words, the lid will continue to drop to the back of the trunk if you just flip the lid open. All doll trunks I have seen do this. The inside has the original tray which lifts out, original paper lining, There is a domed compartment in the lift out tray
and a compartment in the lid. Looks like original cloth tape secures the tray's compartment. Interior is accented with antique scraps. Typical signs of wear, such as some staining, darkening of paper, chips to paper covering, etc. We have displayed the trunk with antique accessories. Please note, these are NOT part of the sale, but are there to give you an idea as to scale and also how charming the trunk is displaying with accessories. It's an ideal trunk for a doll or bear. Very rare to have the compartment in the lid. Please don't hesitate to ask for more photos, as they are very accurate as to depicting the condition of this charming doll trunk.

Layaway is available. A 20 percent non refundable deposit will secure the item and we will work with you regarding the length of the layaway.
We are fairly flexible. No refunds on layaway.

USPS shipping rates (both domestic and international) continue to increase. I ship based on size of box (anything over 12" is considered oversized and charged a surcharge by USPS),
weight, insurance and priority, first class or express options. I will refund any excess you have paid. I do combine shipping for multiple purchases.
International customers, please be aware of your country's restrictions regarding size of imported packages...this may be too large for some areas of the world.
