DKA31: African Filigree
This beautiful filigree necklace is very unique in its design. Purchased in Nairobi, Kenya in 1975, it is marked 18 for 18 karat gold. it measures 2~3/4" long, including the hanging loop. Exquisite filigree work with what appears to be the profile of an African woman in the center. There is a "fringe" of gold which dangle below. The fringe looks handmade, as the pieces are not exactly alike (some a little wider, some slightly longer, some lay flatter than others..as if handcrafted.) This is very minor, as you can see from the photos. There is one fringe element missing, but not easily seen, as the fringe dangle back and forth when worn. A very beautiful and special pendant. 13.8 grams I sell vintage and antique items with a history; oftentimes items may show wear from a former life. I always try to note any serious condition issues.
