SEO379: Pink Cameo Brooch   This is a beautiful pink cameo circa 1900 set in an elaborate etched or carved gold setting. The bail is marked401. The pin on the brooch is parked gold 10 K. The image of a beautiful woman with flowing hair adorned with curls or rosebuds has a high relief to it and this enhances the 3 dimensional appearance. The shade of pink is very soft and lovely. There is a small flaw visible with my jeweler's loop which appears natural to the shell. The pin has a safety clasp and there is a bale which can be lifted up, so the cameo can be worn as a pendant. The cameo measures 1~5/8" north to south. On the underside there is a little V shape which is inherent in the shell, which I can feel if I rub my fingernail over it. It is very small and minor. A lovely cameo/pendant with a superb image of a wonderful woman with flowing hair. Wonderful carving. 1~2/8" east to west.
