This beautiful brooch and earrings set originates from the original family. This set dates 1965 from Quito, Ecuador. The surface of the front of the brooch has a textured appearance suggestive of a gold nugget. It has a bail so it can be worn as a pendant or as a brooch. The brooch measures 2~3/4" long X 1~1/4" wide. It is marked 18K. Safety clasp with some slight darkening of the gold at the hinge portion of the pin in back. It features a beautiful faceted citrine, aquamarine and amethyst. The matching earrings have the same textured surface and similar semi precious stones. Screw on backs. Each marked 18 K Ecuador, although some of the lettering is worn. Some subtle scratches to the glossy gold on the back. Very minor. Please view all my photos. They are magnified. I am getting a weight of 1.4 oz on my digital postal scale. It is accurate as to my package weights, but I can't confirm this is the case with gold. I thought someone would ask, however. If you have a serious inquiry, I can use a different scale. I have taken this set to two jewelers who are certified and deal with antique and vintage jewelry. They have specified what the stones are. I sell vintage and antique items with a history; oftentimes items may show wear from a former life. I always try to note any serious condition issues. Please contact me if you have additional questions regarding the condition of the item. Photos are considered part of the description. Estimated USPS Priority shipping with signature confirmation and insurance is $25.
