SOA106: Etruscan Revival

This is a ornate vintage Victorian Revival brooch from the 1940s. It’s made of brass and finished in repousse (stamped) metalwork. It features an ornate Etruscan Revival porcelain hand painted scene of lovers in a garden and is accented with three graduated brass dangles attached. The back has a pin with a safety latch. Some areas of the back of the brooch have darkend to a subtle charcoal color, as seen in my additional photos, which I have not attempted to clean. The patina has aged and some of the points of the dangles have darkened, as well. The porcelain painting is set in a high relief setting. Very elaborate metal work accents the brooch. The brooch measures 2~5/8" wide X 2~1/2" down the center. The brooch has two rings in the setting which may have had , at one time, two additional dangles. Since I have no history on the piece, which I purchased for my collection 10 years ago, I can't say for sure, but the piece is well balanced with the three dangles. I sell vintage and antique items with a history; oftentimes items may show wear from a former life. I always try to note any serious condition issues. Please contact me if you have additional questions regarding the condition of the item. Photos are considered part of the description, so please email me for those...
