VC1088GC: Crucifix with Family History

This remarkable and stunning 18 karat gold plated and onyx and diamond crucifix or cross dates from the Edwardian period. It comes from the original family and was carried by the father during World War I and then his son during World War II. The crucifix is one of the loveliest we have seen. It features rich, dark ebony colored onyx, encrusted with diamonds. Including the diamond encrusted bail, it measures 2~3/4" long. When worn, it hangs 14~1/4" long. Some minor scratches to the back visible under close inspection. Overall condition is lovely. The diamonds are beautiful and really sparkle. Crucifixes are very popular in fashion. This one is exceptional and the history associated with this piece makes it extraordinary!
