DL1097: Luscious Lace
This charming antique slip is in lovely condition. It COULD be cut at the waist and made into a lacy skirt, as is the fashion right now. It features an abundance of different kinds of lace, so we decided to place this on the lace page, in the event a creative person might be able to recycle the lace into different sewing projects. Please view all my photos in the additional album for closeup photos of the variety and condition. The eyelet beading along the neckline has some breaks, but I would say overall condition is good to excellent on most of the lace. The slip or nightgown features eyelet lace, insertion lace, chemical lace and lace edging. It measures 32" across the front at the hem level, so double for an approximate circumference. I measures 52" long. There is a patch to the back, near underarm and perhaps a mend or two I have missed in the cotton body, but the lace is the best feature, and I think you'll see there is an abundance of it here. From the eyelet at hem level to the hem measures 17" X 60" around. This could be cut from the original garment and resold as a very elaborate remnant. This part is in particularly lovely condition.
