VC5859GC: Estate Lace Flower
We were delighted to uncover this gorgeous handmade lace flower in an estate filled with turn of the century through the 1920s buttons, baubles, textiles and lace. We've never seen anything quite like it! I believe this is hand constructed and the net resembles tiny hand crochet, although it is possible this portion is machine made. Everything is wired, for easily manipulation of the petals, leaf and stem, into desired shapes. There are even tiny stamen stems accenting the center of the blossom. The blossom measures about 3~1/2" top to bottom and the entire blossom with stem measures 7" long. Creamy to medium ivory in shade, depending on the flower.
