DL1068: "Napoleon" Emperor Buttons  These antique or vintage brass buttons are one inch square and feature a face similar to one that would be found on a coin. The imprinted wording reads Napoleon Empereur. Shank back. The buttons are nicely formed with a raised bust image of Napoleon I. The metal has aged to a wonderful warm patina--very unusual. Price reflects FOUR buttons. These were acquired by a collector who accumulated the finest treasure trove of vintage and antique European lace, buttons, appliques and other embellishments over a 9 year period, while living in Holland. During this time, she was able to travel to various parts of Europe to find these beautiful antique and vintage items and trims.
