KT78: Japan/Millefiori Glass  These buttons are old stock, found in a warehouse in New York. They date from the late 1940s, and their original boxes were marked "Occupied Japan." Glass buttons with metal shanks, each has a slightly different design. Set of SIX (6) buttons. Each measures 1/2" across. I was originally told these were handpainted, but under a jeweler's loupe, I cannot find brushstrokes, so am assuming the colorful pattern occurred in the making of the glass.
