VR516S: Brick Red Silk and Frise Trim  Lovely antique trim referred to as frise. Frise is a metal for embroidery that is crinkled. It looks like a thin flat wire that has been wrapped around a square rod, slipped off and twisted just a bit to make the corners lay in different angles to show off a lot of reflected light. This gorgeous trim is embroidered on a field of brick red silk. Old patina to the gold metallic threads. Also accented with gold colored sequins. Lovely condition. An exceptional trim, very ornate.
