DB5014GC: Poupee Bois Jumeau  This is a very rare and unusual Poupee Bois by Jumeau. It is a first generation deluxe doll in a rare large size. The Jumeau portrait poupee head is referred to as a "deluxe" model. Wood-bodied Jumeau portrait fashion dolls (poupees bois) are rarely available. 25 inch wood-bodied models are especially unusual. Circa 1870s-1880s. Her outstanding wooden body is fully articulated, and features extra joints midway on her upper arms and on her thighs, giving her a very broad range of pose-ability. The body has its original finish, which is in overall excellent condition with some wear to finish here and there, on toes, fingers, etc. Please see my photos. Perfect bisque head and shoulderplate. Superbly painted upper and lower lashes, eyebrows, closed mouth, and rose blushed cheeks. Applied ears are pierced with the teeniest of earring flakes on one earring hole. Gorgeous large paperweight glass eyes with fantastic details. Original cork pate and antique human hair wig in nice condition. A very rare and exceptional early antique Jumeau doll! Dressed in original antique chemise and pantaloons.
