DK114S: Teddy Bear/1920s  This is a wonderful vintage teddy bear. He has a wonderful expression, expressing an abundance of charm and character. Origin and provenance unknown, but we feel , with our thirty years of experience collecting bears, he resembles an early Schuco bear, with clear glass eyes. He measures 16" tall (not including ears). Jointed at neck, arms and legs. Golden honey colored mohair with embroidered floss nose, mouth and claws. Pads appear to have been expertly covered , at some time in teddy's history, to reinforce original pads. Excelsior stuffed . Wear to mohair on snout, face, ears and body. Paws are curved. Wear to mohair covering (please see our photos), somewhat more in front than in back. Such a wonderful bear, he would be an excellent addition to an important bear collection. Antique silk ribbon at neck.
