DKA54: Kestner 152  This adorable Kestner 152 reminds us of Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz, with her antique blue and white dress and antique white early dotted swiss blouse. She also comes with her ORIGINAL dress which is made of fine batiste and has been masterfully decorated with fine lace at short, puffed sleeves, and pin tucks along the bottom of the dress. Ruched bodice, fitted waist with small hand mending at left side of dress. Pin closure in back. The dress has been accented with a delicate miniature bar pin with faux jewels.
Layers of underclothing with lavish embroidery and lace trim. Original socks with hole at the top of one sock. Original antique shoes with silver buckles. Each back seam of shoe has been reinforced from the inside for additional support and one shoe is missing the sole.
Original blonde mohair wig in a shorter style covered with an antique blonde mohair wig with lavish ringlets which cascade down her back. Incised Made in Germany 152 on the back of her head. I believe her pate is plaster and some tissue has been inserted to keep her eyes from moving when she is shipped. Original Kestner body retains original glossy finish, painted fingernail outlines. Wear to body is very minor. Marked with Germany in red rectangle.
Beautiful bisque, lovely painted eyebrows, lavishly painted upper and lower lashes, Blue sleep eyes. Rose blushed cheeks, painted lips with upper teeth. Slight nose rub visible at times, in the right light. She is so adorable! Her stringing is quite loose. She will stand with a doll stand or sit with something behind her to support her. She has an antique straw hat, somewhat fragile, but is charming and has its original flowers. Dolly measures 12" tall.
