SOR55: Steiff with Button
This is a charming mohair Steiff bear with original button in ear. The Steiff mark is the one with the two last letters(FF) with
streaming tails, slightly at an angle. This teddy dates circa 1949-1952. He has horizontal sitiching on his nose and mouth. Beautiful
glass eyes and felt pads on his paws. He has four claws embroidered on his paws and feet. Teddy is excelsior stuffed and jointed
at arms, legs and head. Please view all my photos for condition. He measures 9~1/2" tall. Desirable hump on his back and long, extended
arms. He has been tucked away in my personal collection and originally purchased from Diane Hoffman.
His mohair coverage is in good condition, mostly intact. There are a few thinning spots, where he would have been handled
a lot, as a toy. A few areas that are bald, like the tips of his ears, in the back. Also where neck attaches to torso, at one side. Some wear
to areas along the seam lines. Felt pads are in good condition. All pads match, regarding felt color. I believe these are his original pads.
Non working squeeze box or growler.
A super adorable little bear with tons of charisma! Perfect displayed with other antique dolls and bears.
