DLQUILT: Embroidered Quilt   This lovely vintage quilt is handmade. The crib size quilt features hand embroidered birds, such as the bluebird and cardinal, flowers and dogs, such as the Chow, Boston Terrier and Springer Spaniel. There are 20 blocks with embroidered critters, 4 across the top X 5 down the side. The quilt measures 42~1/2" X 55". It would work for a crib or even a toddler's bed. Please view all my photos and I am happy to rephotograph any areas. The back of the quilt features the same color as the animals are embroidered on, which is an off white or light ivory. There are some areas which have oxidized and some stains. I've tried to photograph these areas. I believe a light cleaning would brighten up the off white block and back. It appears to be hand stitched, as the quilting stitches vary in length. Overall, the stitches are fairly small and represent a huge investment in time and labor. Very sweet displayed as is in a primitive country bedroom or in a crib with some light cleaning. The quilt weighs 1 lb 12 oz unpacked.
