DB3970GC: Putti or Cherub/Fabulous

These have become so incredibly popular for vintage shabby Parisian decor. By far the best example we have seen, this putti is painted carved wood, with incredible detailing and a lovely aged appearance with typical and desirable wear to paint. Lovely detailing to the face with pink tinged limps, charcoal colored carved hair. Wings are accented with gold colored gilding or paint. The eyes look like they have been set (glass) and then painted with the amber brown and black coloring. He measures about 19~1/2" from the tip of his wings to the bottoms of his toes. Originating from a collector who found them in a private shrine in Mexico decades ago. The cherub stands on his own pretty well, if his wings are supported against something in back. There is no hardware to hang him from a wall. Very, very lovely! Due to his weight, which is substantial, he may have to Fed Ex ground....
