DKA56: Antique Steamer Trunk  LOCAL PICK UP ONLY. WILL NOT SHIP.
This is a wonderful antique trunk with its original beautiful lithograph paper covering.
It has black metal hardware and several locks with little wear-- minor. It is also embellished
with bands of wood and the style is curved or domed on top. The wooden domed top trunk measurements are 32 inches across,
24 inches high including the dome
and the sides measure about 20 inches.
The trunk has an exquisite
interior with original paper decoration. Lovely colors of turquoise and plum that look like pinwheels.
The top of the lid inside has a large scrap-- an early lithograph of girls seated at a table. One is
feeding her doll. There are other images with floral designs etc. and a couple of creases in the paper.
The borders which meanders around three parts of the dome top are very elegantly designed with
Greek key design and flowers. Please see my additional photos the trunk as they are part of the description.

The trunk has its original tray, which has one side that is open.The other side of the tray is domed
or curved and has its original scrap featuring a young woman with flowing hair reminiscent of a
Grecian style. The same wonderful colorful border accents this curved top and there is wear where
the top of this curved compartment has been lifted and closed over the decades. Inside bottom
interior covered with the same pinwheel paper. Overall condition is lovely for its age and the fact it
is paper covered.
The hardware appears to be
original on the trunk. I do not see a makers name or manufacture .
The trunk is outstanding , with minor wear to paper here and there, some minor surface scratches
One leather handle
remains in tact, however, with break to the leather. See my photos. Can be manipulated to look like an undamaged handle.See my photos.
An outstanding trunk for its age.
It would look lovely displayed open.
These are very difficult to find, especially in this fine condition and being all original.
I sell vintage and antique items with a history; oftentimes items may show wear from a former life. I always try to note any serious condition issues.
