SHAB43SO: Chippy Paint/Table Cupboard

This is an early 1900s table cupboard or display case with an outstanding shabby chippy Paris apartment appearance! The original wood underneath is primitive pine and it has been painted creamy white. Perfect for displaying your antique perfume bottles, little rhinestone embellished clocks, frames, etc. Ideal for displaying your small antique dolls. You can change the whole appearance, as we have illustrated, by what you place in the cupboard. Filled with patriotic little figures, flags, spools of antique ribbon with red white and blue, it will be ideal for a primitive early Americana room. Ideal for displaying your antique holiday figures at Christmas, as well. Can you imagine some lithographed blocks displayed in the case? Wonderful! And if you are an antique dealer, it's perfect for taking to shows to protect your smalls. Mortise and tenon construction. I love the small drawer on the bottom, which pulls open, with the faceted glass knobs (the knobs are not original to the cupboard). There is one gap in the wooden slats which make up the back--only visible if you look at the outside back. We've placed a mirror in the back of the cupboard which conceals this and also brings in additional natural light through reflection. The glass front has some imperfections and bubbles which indicates it is original to the case. The cupboard measures 25" tall, 13" deep, and 16" across the front. It is a great piece to display a special treasure. We had an acrylic shelf made for it, which can be adjusted to a number of different levels. Please note the items which we have displayed in the cupboard do not come with the sale of the cupboard. Most are offered for sale in different areas of our website. Due to the fragile nature of the the glass, we will pack this very carefully in a specially made box. Due to its weight, shipping will be more than our standard shipping costs for something of this value. The weight is about 18 pounds, unpacked. International customers, please note that some countries have strict specifications for boxes--this is too large to ship to Australia, for example. Really a great antique piece!
