VC5639GC: Large Wax Angel/Germany  This is an outstanding old store stock turn of the century German wax angel, in a fabulous and rare large size measuring 9~1/2" long. Gorgeous pink wax finish with original periwinkle colored rayon or silk skirt, embellished with lace. Silk ribbon banner with Dresden paper stars. Spun glass wings are in superb condition and are also accented with Dresden stars. Paper stars do show darkening of the gilding to a warm patina and possibly some missing star points. Mohair wig, hand decorated or painted facial features including ocean blue eyes. Holds his original soft lead metal trumpet with some wear . These wax angels are excellent displayed in feather trees at Christmas time, but the ways to display these lovely ornaments are virtually endless! The angel can tied into a vanity dresser mirror, amid vintage flowers and ribbon bows. So shabby Paris Apartment chic!
