VC7915GC: Rare Powder/Perfume  This is an exceptional vintage porcelain powder box with a figure seated upon it, which appears to be a perfume bottle. There are two pieces...the bottom of the powder box and the lid, which has the figure attached. This appears to have a Persian or Asian theme and colors of butter yellow, sky blue and dusty rose are accented with some gilded embellishments. Some wear to the gold paint or . The figure is seated with legs crossed , on a tuft which reminds me of a flying carpet. Overall condition is very good with a small chip to the rim of the bottom portion of this. The seated figure is marked on the back and the underside of the bottom of the powder box is also marked. Gilded gold crown at the top has mellowed to a warm, aged patina. I have not twisted this or attempted to pull it out. The diameter of the bottom portion of the box is approximately 4~1/4" and the powder box, including seated figure is 5.5" tall. Very rare.
