SEO338: French Perfume Bottle   This gorgeous glass perfume bottle is French, dating to the late 1800s. Beautiful square shape featuring a gilded metal overlay which looks like filigree lace, it is so intricate and beautiful. The top is also gold gilded and features a beautiful hand painted enamel floral image surrounded with a hint of cobalt blue and gold painted stars. The gilding has aged to a lovely warm patina. The lid is hinged and opens to reveal the glass dauber of the scent or perfume bottle. I have photographed the interior of the lid which has some wear and some parts are more glossy there than others. Please view that photo, as it is part of the description and can relay the condition better than my words. The dauber pulls out. There is some wear to the glossy finish of the gilding where the dauber has been seated.There is a little bubble inside the dauber top and a small chip along the bottom rim. The dauber fits very well and the golden lid snaps to its closed position very well.
The bottle measures 2~1/2" tall. Some minor wear or scratches, some tarnishing to bits of the metal overlay , but overall a splendid vanity item. This would be lovely displayed on a vanity table among other cherished perfume bottles. Please email me for additional photos.
