VC495SO: Exceptional Dresser Box  This outstanding celluloid covered wooden dresser box has an exquisite design on the lid, accented with flowers of all varieties. Original ornate brass hardware, with original peach silk lining. Some overall dustiness to the lining, but I don't see any stains and the silk is still intact. The box has a small chip to the surface of the celluloid, at the outer rim and a spot on the other side, where the celluloid is lifting--not missing, but lifting. A couple of other areas along the very outer rim which shows some cracking, hidden in the elaborate pattern. It is a lovely vanity item which has aged nicely, considering it was used perhaps on a daily basis. It measures 8" across at the back, and 5" across the smaller front.
