This stunning vintage brooch is marked MIMI DIN . New York based company (Mimi di N Inc) was incorporated in 1962 to 1997. The jewelry is named after its founder ,Madame Mimi di Niscemi ( or Princess Mimi di Niscemi). Her pieces were often featured in Vogue and other publications and celebrities such Jacqueline Kennedy and the Duchess of Windsor wore her pieces. Princess Mimi di Niscemi was born in 1931 in Palermo, Italy to an aristocratic family and became a designer.
This particular brooch has some significant weight to it. This gilded brooch features ivy and other leaves and flowers, meandering vines and the center is accented with a faux large pearl. Back pin closes with a safety clasp. The brooch measures 3" long. Condition is lovely with some very faint scratches to the surface of the pearl.
