WD180SO: Dress,Shoes, Veil, Ring Pillow  This is an incredible find! Worthy of wearing or for display! One seldom finds an entire wedding ensemble--and in the original box! Box is marked July 14, 1951. This includes the satin dress, the fabulous extended length wedding veil with a regal crown of wax flowers, original wedding slippers, original decorative bows, and the original ring pillow--all stored in the original box, which does show wear and tear and has been taped here and there for reinforcement. The dress is outstanding and looks like it was worn for the wedding and then stored away for decades. There is a faint suggestion of soiling on the train which I believe will clean out. The bodice of the dress is very fine tulle, very sheer! Accented with ivory lace. Original satin buttons on long sleeves and many, many satin buttons down the back. Dress measures 57" long in front. Sleeve length is 47" and shoulder to shoulder is 18". Waist is 26" and bust is 29". The very back seam has slightly separated about 3" down the length of the dress and will need to be restitched. Dress length down the back is about 68"-70".
The ring pillow is very sweet and accented with lace--excellent condition with a very, very smudge barely visible on the underside.
Original delicate slippers with leather soles. These are stamped size 6, so for delicate small feet!
The fabulous veil is breathtaking! So many orange blossoms on the tiara--it is just bursting with wax blossoms! It's the prettiest veil we've seen. Lace trimmed, too! There is a tiny spot on the lace edge--please see my photos and email me for more--I have lots of photos! There is a blusher veil and the longer veil measures 9 feet long! I believe the veil is silk--great condition. There may be a few pinholes, but very few and nothing major. The entire ensemble is packed in the original Giddings bridal box and the dress also has the Giddings label. Great for a wedding, wonderful for display!
